Capable of creating exciting wines and providing an interesting glimpse of the territory and the enological culture of Friuli, the wines of Torre Rossaza spotlight the territory and its traditions with technical know-how and experience. The company prides itself on being authentic ‘artisans of taste’ as Filiputti used to say. Our enologists give every wine its own distinct personality. Each phase of our productive process is completely inspected and its initial phase arises from a ten-year collaboration with Rauscendo nurseries where experts select the clones that are the most typical and suitable for creating great wines. The vines are then cultivated directly by the company’s staff headed by Ennio, Torre Rosazza’s agronomist. Our harvests are all carried out by hand and imply various successive stages including grape selection directly from the plants. Next, the grapes are immediately processed in the cellar located at the center of the vineyards. Wine making and refining are almost exclusively carried out in steel containers so to safeguard the grapes’ organoleptic characteristics as much as possible. When present, our wood refining process is discrete and it aims to uphold the typical nature of each wine without rending them heavy. Luca Zuccarello’s technical skills lead the way. Management also relies on the prestigious consultancy of Donato Lanati, a esteemed wine maker who has collaborated for years to produce the wines of Torre Rosazza.
For quite some time this aromatic variety has been cultivated in the Colli Orientali of Friuli with noteworthy success. Thanks to the area’s unique micro-climate, this vine is capable of appropriately expressing its intense aromatic nature. La ponca, the hill’s terrain, gives this wine a pleasant mineral feel, resulting in its pleasant flavor.
