White carosello cucumbers
The carousel cucumber is considered a vegetable but it is a variety of melon of Apulian origin that is eaten unripe in place of the classic cucumbers. It is a natural hybrid between melon and cucumber, and from the latter it inherited the chromosomes and the cultivation method. The carousel cucumber includes numerous types that vary in shape, color and texture, as well as the taste of course.
The shape of the most common carousel cucumbers is slightly elongated compared to traditional cucumbers, the Apulian carousels resemble an avocado a little more rounded at the ends and the color is very light green inside and streaked with greens ranging from light to dark on the skin . Only when fully ripe, the chromatic characteristics of the fruit take on an intense green on the outside with white pulp and reddish seeds.
