Carolina Marengo Frappato is produced by Feudi del Pisciotto winery and it is obtained from the best selections of Frappato grapes. Like Nero d'Avola, the Frappato vine also shows the whole enological value of Sicily, capable of offering a powerful, persistent and very elegant Sicilian red wine, which has been striking since the first olfactory notes that characterize it in an unmistakable way. Carolina Marengo Frappato is part of the Italian Fashion Collection Top Designer Wines Collection's, which the Sicilian producer Feudi del Pisciotto has dedicated to the greatest Italian fashion designers. The harvest is carried out towards the first week of October, followed by fermentation in steel and a maturation in 50% new and 50% second passage barriques for about 10 months. The wine completes the refinement in the bottle for the next 8 months.

It has an intense ruby ​​red colour. In the glass the wine explodes in a fresh bouquet of red fruits and sweet spices. Round on the palate with a lively acidity, it is well-balanced and persistent in the finish. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 15-16 °C.

Alessandro Masnaghetti writes in his “Map of Barbaresco Cru, 1994: "...the position of Roncaglie, together with Roncagliette, is one of the best we can see on the side of the hill that begins at Roccalini and rises towards Treiso...". And Daniel Thomases, in the Wine Spectator of January 1995: "Roncaglie is recognised as one of the best locations in the entire Barbaresco area".

This ruby-red wine has a characteristic orange rim. Its scent is distinct and singular, recalling red fruits, particularly raspberry. To the palate it proves pleasantly dry, extremely elegant and velvety, with long-lasting persistence.

Pinot Nero is a vine that originated in the Borgogna area and it is cultivated quite frequently in northern Italy as well. Often used to produce sparkling wines, it is known for the natural acidity of its grapes. In some particularly prestigious winemaking areas, it is used to make reds, giving rise to elegant still wines.  

Poggiobello boasts a surface area of 110-hectares, ninety of which host cultivated vineyards. It grows ancient indigenous varieties like Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Refosco, Verduzzo Friulano and Picolit (of which Poggiobello owns the largest portion of the Colli Orientali Consortium). Moreover, the winery also grows the most known international varieties such as merlot and sauvignon, which have been cultivated in this territory for centuries.

Naturally ruby red, the Chianti Classico 2017 of Castellare di Castellina is fragrant, fresh with pleasant hints of red fruit, licorice, currant and a hint of vanilla. The typical notes of the so called Sangioveto dominate. On the palate it expresses a pleasant sweetness and it is round, soft and sapid.

Castellare Chianti Classico is a blend of 90% Sangioveto and 10% Canaiolo, aged for eight months in French oak barrels and tonneaux, followed by at least 5 months in the bottle. Only native vines, without Cabernet or Merlot, to maintain the typicality of the most famous of italian wines, without blending it with international grape varieties, as it’s also the case of I Sodi di S. Niccolò, the Castellare’s Super Tuscan for twice in the Top 100, made with Sangioveto and black Malvasia.

A wine that seeks, keeping its typicality, the utmost elegance, well-know also for its label on which the iconic Castellare’s bird is depicted (a new bird every year selected among the most endagered species) as a symbol of the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. Indeed, for over 40 years, Castellare has been banning the use of synthetic chemicals in the vineyards.

Made with only Nebbiolo grapes, thanks to its intriguing simplicity and easy drinkability, this is the perfect wine for every day, while standing up to even the most important occasions. Transparent garnet red, it surprises us with its gentle floral notes, which lead to a fresh, fruity and harmonious taste.

The Rosso di Valtellina DOC from ARPEPE first saw the light in 2003, after a sweltering summer that had put our vines and our winegrowers sorely to the test. It would not have been fair to demean all their hard work by selling off the grapes, which were unsuitable for making a vintage wine. The choice came naturally: what might have had little value in the distant future could be given great dignity when young. The Rosso di Valtellina thus acquired a free and light-hearted personality, even though its elder siblings, more serious and refined, feared it might not last for years.

A Valpolicella Classico Ripasso from the great body, generous and persistent, which is always a very good figure when you are a guest at a dinner party.

The vineyards of Feudi del Pisciotto have 50% of the red wine king of the island, the Nero d’Avola, and 50% of international red wines like Cabernet, Merlot, etc and two white wines Semeiloon and Gewuz Traminer, for an unusual Passito.

Poderi Castellare di Castellina is a company of about 80 hectares in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, close to the village of Castellina in Chianti. The hectares of vineyard are almost 33, located on the hills of a natural amphitheatre facing southeast. The production is of about 250.000 bottles of wine per year. To a middle altitude of 370 m. above sea level the vineyards have an age between 5 and 30 years. Castellare di Castellina was born in 1968 from the consolidation of five farms. A good exposure to the sun, a good drain of the water, a mixed ground of calcareous marls, galestro and little clay give wines both red and white, which are very well structured, intense and proper for a long ageing in bottle.

The cru of Chianti Classico. A Reserve originated from a single vines and has obtained the highest scores for its elegance and uniqueness. A wine showing the huge potentials of Sangioveto.

In 1993, Tino Colla and his niece, Federica, decided to join forces and create a new wine venture in the setting of the Langhe Albesi, driven by their attachment to their roots – those of a family that had been wine growers for generations – and by the desire to build something all their own while at the same time abiding by tradition. Poderi Colla comprises the following properties: Cascine Drago in Alba; Tenuta Roncaglia di Barbaresco and the Dardi Le Rose estate in Monforte. Three properties occupying outstanding sites, each specialising in growing different types of wine and covering a near-complete spectrum of Alba winemaking. Beppe Colla, Federica’s father and Tino’s brother, makes a fundamental contribution: over 60 years (his first harvest was back in 1949) of unique, impassioned, top-level experience in the production of Alba’s fine reds.Tino’s eldest son, Pietro, has been playing an active role on the Colla team since 2007; he was born in 1980 and has followed in the family’s footsteps by attending the Alba Winemaking School and graduating in oenology at Turin University in 2006. All the wine - around 150,000 bottles yearly - is made from grapes grown on the estate, thus ensuring greater direct control at every step in the process, from vineyard cultivation to winemaking, maturing and bottling.

Dardi le Rose is situated in the municipal district of Monforte d’Alba, where it covers a total of 6 hectares, entirely under Nebbiolo. The property is named after the Dardi di Bussia sub-area, which has always been acknowledged as one of the fine Barolo crus. Lorenzo Fantini cited it in his 1880 monograph on Viticulture and Oenology in the Province of Cuneo, and the Atlas of Fine Langhe Vineyards, published by Arcigola Slow Food in 1990, quotes oral testimony on the local historical crus.

The Amarone Classico by Nicolis is a great Amarone, from the noble body and the austere taste, deep and powerful. Born from a grape carefully selected, placed in boxes and left to rest in a well ventilated and dry for three months to get to an extraordinary concentration of sugars and aromas. Here begins a slow and long fermentation maceration that lasts for almost a month; then the wine is aged in oak casks for about 30 months and is then left to age in the bottle for at least 8 months. The Amarone Classico by Nicolis that shows a deep ruby red color and dark, which offers powerful and elegant notes of ripe fruit, jam, cocoa, tobacco and leather. She has a great body and a deep roundness, is complex and balanced, without neglecting aspects like softness, warmth and freshness.

Vecchio Florio Marsala Superiore

Marsala wine made by Cantine Florio is the fruit of a crossbreed of islands. According to legend, it was popularized by John Woodhouse, an English trader (and, according to German poet Novalis, “every Englishman is an island”) who tasted the wine in 1773, while in Marsala, and immediately fell in love with this product of the Italian island, Sicily. Marsala was traditionally aged in wooden casks, and acquired a similar taste to Spanish and Portuguese wines that were popular in England at the time. Woodhouse noticed his fellow countrymen’s appreciation and started to produce the delicacy in Sicily, following the “Solera” method of aging.

Then, in 1833, the Palermitan Vincenzo Florio (and many say that “every Sicilian is an island”) decided to give the British Empire some competition. In only a few years his company became the top producer of Marsala wine in the world.

After almost two centuries, the historic Cantine Florio – with their 165-meter-long naves, pointed arch ceilings, beaten tuff floors – still treasure about two thousand different-sized casks, barrels, and vats, used to make and perfect Marsala. But also ‘passito’ (straw wine) from Pantelleria and Malvasia from the island of Lipari.

Just like in the past, these wines are born form a crossbreed of islands.
