Villa Solais Vermentino di Sardegna DOC

Brilliant straw yellow color, with green and golden tinges. At nose is fresh and pleasant, on palate is nice with fresh finish together with an attractive mineral note. The Cantina di Santadi Winery is located in the Sulcis area, in South-western Sardinia, just a few miles as the crow flies from the dazzling beaches and white sand dunes of Porto Pino. It was established in 1960, and after some start-up difficulties, a new management gave it a decisive boost, driven by strong determination which fanned enthusiasm and passion.
Thus the Winery embarked on an ambitious programme, adopting new strategies and clear targets, streamlining its operations and issuing coherent guidelines to its member grape growers.
The foremost aim was to stake operations on quality bottled wines, especially typical reds, enhancing and promoting the primary local cultivar: carignano, while not forgetting white grapes with a distinguished tradition in Sardinia, such as vermentino, nuragus and nasco.

Pinot Grigio DOC

Pinot Grigio DOC

Ever since the 1970s, Tenuta S. Anna has been stretching the limits of innovation.

The care put into selecting the varietal wine, into making the most of the territory as the focal point of continuing research, the attention to detail, all constitute the foundations on which Tenuta S. Anna has modelled its success. The tradition goes on, and it is this perpetual innovative motion that is the guiding force behind the Azienda because, in order to be really and truly enterprising, there has to be a historical background. The fruits of the vine transformed into precious liquid nectar. Aromas, flavors, the genuine charm of the earth elements captured and contained in every glass. Working in the vineyards alternates with the application of refined enological techniques and artisan know-how, combined with ongoing research to produce alluring, sensational wines while maintaining respect for man and his environment.

A grape variety of French origin, here in Italy this has become the most famous vine all over the world: in the north-east territories (the regions of Veneto, Friuli and Trentino Alto Adige) it has found its ideal habitat and on completion of the white wine-making process, proposes unpretentious, full-bodied wines that easily accompany a wide range of dishes.

Poggiobello Friulano DOC
HK$175

Poggiobello Friulano DOC

More than any other, this wine truly expresses the territory for which it was named. In fact, in Friuli, ‘the Friuliano’ (which used to be called Tocai) is practically a synonym for white wine. Previously known as ‘Savignonassa’, due to its similarities to Sauvignon, it is destined to become standard bearer for enology in Friuli. Moderately intense straw-yellow. Its mineral scent combines with the smell of a cultivated garden (sage, flowers). It wins over the palate with full-bodied aromatic sensations that don’t only recall fruit, but more complex sensations. It finishes with the sharp sensation of toasted almonds.

When Genagricola acquired Azienda Agricola Poggiobello in 1974, its vineyards covered a small surface area of only 12 hectares. This territory is internationally recognized as one of Italy’s best for the production of white wine and its extraordinary potential proved a driving force behind the decision to invest in these vineyards. The company gradually initiated a series of lot acquisitions near the Company’s the winery. The company now boasts a surface area of 110-hectares, ninety of which host cultivated vineyards. It grows ancient indigenous varieties like Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Refosco, Verduzzo Friulano and Picolit (of which Poggiobello owns the largest portion of the Colli Orientali Consortium). Moreover, the company also grows the most known international varieties such as merlot and sauvignon , which have been cultivated in this territory for centuries.

Tirsat IGT Gurra di Mare

Tirsat IGT Gurra di Mare

A blend of Chardonnay and Viognier. The first wine of the new winery Gurra di Mare located in Porto Palo (Menfi), Sicily; a perfect terroir for the two international grape varieties. A golden yellow colour with an intense and complex nose that leads to apricot and yellow peaches aromas, white flowers, spices and honey. A sweet exotic intensity that combined with a pleasant freshness conveys in an harmonic wine.

Just under two hectares of Chardonnay and Viognier, on the terrains that descend all the way to the sea, in a unique micro-climate and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Taking care of a vineyard in a terroir such as this demands a precise and extremely meticulous care. But the results can offer great satisfaction.
The only wine produced by Gurra di Mare is called Tirsat, which in Arabic means reef (it is no coincidence that the ancient name of Porto Palo was “Tirsat abi Tawr”). A name that pays homage to the character of a land that throughout the course of its history has served as a meeting point between different worlds and cultures. Tirsat is a blend of Chardonnay and Viognier grapes vinified based on the French “batonnage” technique (based on keeping the yeast cells in contact with the wine) to give life, in the lands made famous by the production of Planeta wines, to an elegant white with a fruity and very harmonious character.
