Pinot Grigio DOC
Ever since the 1970s, Tenuta S. Anna has been stretching the limits of innovation.
The care put into selecting the varietal wine, into making the most of the territory as the focal point of continuing research, the attention to detail, all constitute the foundations on which Tenuta S. Anna has modelled its success. The tradition goes on, and it is this perpetual innovative motion that is the guiding force behind the Azienda because, in order to be really and truly enterprising, there has to be a historical background. The fruits of the vine transformed into precious liquid nectar. Aromas, flavors, the genuine charm of the earth elements captured and contained in every glass. Working in the vineyards alternates with the application of refined enological techniques and artisan know-how, combined with ongoing research to produce alluring, sensational wines while maintaining respect for man and his environment.
A grape variety of French origin, here in Italy this has become the most famous vine all over the world: in the north-east territories (the regions of Veneto, Friuli and Trentino Alto Adige) it has found its ideal habitat and on completion of the white wine-making process, proposes unpretentious, full-bodied wines that easily accompany a wide range of dishes.
Poggiobello Friulano DOC
More than any other, this wine truly expresses the territory for which it was named. In fact, in Friuli, ‘the Friuliano’ (which used to be called Tocai) is practically a synonym for white wine. Its mineral scent combines with the smell of a cultivated garden (sage, flowers). It wins over the palate with full-bodied aromatic sensations that don’t only recall fruit, but more complex sensations. It finishes with the sharp sensation of toasted almonds.
When Genagricola acquired Azienda Agricola Poggiobello in 1974, its vineyards covered a small surface area of only 12 hectares. This territory is internationally recognized as one of Italy’s best for the production of white wine and its extraordinary potential proved a driving force behind the decision to invest in these vineyards. The company gradually initiated a series of lot acquisitions near the Company’s the winery. The company now boasts a surface area of 110-hectares, ninety of which host cultivated vineyards. It grows ancient indigenous varieties like Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Refosco, Verduzzo Friulano and Picolit (of which Poggiobello owns the largest portion of the Colli Orientali Consortium). Moreover, the company also grows the most known international varieties such as merlot and sauvignon , which have been cultivated in this territory for centuries.
