Superior quality comes from the decision to base the manufacturing process on the selection of the best durum wheat, exclusively Italian that is primarily cultivated and harvested in Abruzzo at Francesca’s farm company, but also by their friend, Francesco Paolo Valentini, farmer and famous winemaker.

Il pastificio Panarese utilizza esclusivamente semola di grano duro coltivato nei propri campi in Val d'Orcia, una piccola valle situata in un parco Naturale, dichiarata patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO. La qualità della pasta Panarese inizia dalla materia prima: un grano duro particolarmente ricco di glutine, grazie alla relativa siccità della zona e alle caratteristiche del terreno. Continua poi con il controllo totale della filiera produttiva, che inizia con la scelta del seme e prosegue fino al prodotto finito, passando per la molitura del grano. La lavorazione artigianale con trafilatura al bronzo ed essicazione a bassa temperatura conferisce a questa pasta un gusto inconfondibile.

Il nome pici deriva dal termine "appiciare" ovvero il tipo di lavorazione necessaria per realizzarli che consiste nel lavorare a mano l'impasto fino a creare uno spaghetto lungo. Questa preparazione prevede l’uso di ingredienti base della cucina nostrana: l’olio extravergine d’oliva, l’aglio e i pomodori che richiamano le solari campagne toscane.

I pici all’aglione sono un primo piatto semplice da preparare, molto gustoso, genuino e saporito!
